You will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating, and managing releases across Enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios. The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects, and Programs. Where necessary you'll provide tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production. You will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes through development, testing, and production environments. The Release Manager job function works with all participants in software and IT projects and collaborates with engineers and testers as they set up their supporting environments.This position works with management to improve the processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software platforms and infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesPlan the release windows and cycles across a portfolioManage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and qualityMeasure progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budgetConduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviewsCommunicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changesDeployment support for cross-team coordination, both during business hours and after hours on a scheduled basis.Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locationsConduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviewsContribute to deployment Run Books, and Implementation PlansCommunicate release details and schedules to the Business as requiredMaintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.Continually work towards making improvements in the release processLead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the coordination of the deployment Plans and checklists.Participate in Change Advisory Board meetings to discuss release scope and concernsMaintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification listsResearch new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyze their application to current configuration management needsCoordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates

Qualifications

2-4 years of previous release management or comparableFormal training in project management practices preferredPrior technical IT or software experience preferred, such as engineering, infrastructure, cloud, testing, or deployments.Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completionDemonstrated effective leadership and analytical skillsAdvanced written and verbal communication skills are a mustGeneral PC knowledge including Microsoft Office including experience with Excel

Preferred Skills:Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field4-6 years of experience in an operational IT environmentPractical experience with software development lifecycleBackground with Azure DevOpsKnowledge of ServiceNow
