Job Description

Job Purpose

Provide network administration as a member of the CBTS team. Develop procedures and guidelines for the implementation and management of network administration as they relate to the managed hosting environment. Responsible for assisting in the implementation of network designs that deliver performance, reliability, and scalability. Responsible for managing growth plans by monitoring network performance and identifying capacity problems. Provide network administration as a member of the CBTS team. Work with Director - Engineering and others to develop procedures and guidelines for implementation and management of network administration as they relate to the managed hosting environment. Responsible for assisting in the implementation of network designs that deliver performance, reliability, and scalability. Responsible for managing growth plans by monitoring network performance and identifying capacity problems. Proactively monitor all aspects of network performance to identify problems and resolve them before they become service affecting. Responsible for cross-training other members of the CBTS team in the domain area of expertise of the position to broaden the knowledge base within the team.

Essential Functions

55% - Design and implementation of business solutions utilizing Networking equipment.

25% - Design, write, and maintain systems documentation and network diagrams.

10% - Team Leader responsibilities.

5% - Using network analysis, management, and performance monitoring tools to diagnose problems and determine the source.

5% - Network capacity analysis, planning, and management of all networks.

Experience

6 to 7 years of experience

Experience using network analysis, management, and performance monitoring tools to plan for growth, diagnose problems, and determine the source.

Hands-on experience with HP Openview, Cisco Works, and Navis Access.

Working experience with troubleshooting tools such as ping, traceroute, and dig.Familiarity with security-related Internet information sources, such as BugTraq, CERT, etc.

Experience with TCP/IP platforms involving dynamic routing protocols like EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP and their related control protocols.

Education

Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses

Cisco Certifications a must

Veritas Certifications a plus

Linux Certifications a plus

Solaris Certifications a plus

NT or Windows 2000 experience a plus

Project Management experience a huge plus

Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working knowledge of DS3, T1, OC3, ISDN, Frame Relay, SONET, ATM, and DSL and other bandwidth link specifications

Working knowledge of TCP/IP including V6 enhancements.

Working knowledge of TVP/IP enhancements such as multi-cast, QOS techniques, bandwidth, and path reservation techniques.

Working knowledge of network and server bandwidth management technologies, techniques, and topologies as they relate to specific types of data flows.

Working knowledge of the configuration and maintenance of routers, hubs, bridges, and switches.

Cisco 9800 WiFi controllers, Cisco WAPs.

Ability to provide daily Ops and new enablement support. Includes new builds, understanding and making all controller configuration settings (ie. ACL,DDOS, etc) while working within an ACI network environment.

DNAC and utilizing it for Ops support.

Network switch/route is a must and knowledge of Palo and F5 a plus.
