This position is a member of our Air Quality Division.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Experience retrieving (querying), reviewing, and analyzing complex data setsExperience developing emissions data used for air quality plans and programsExperience managing technical or scientific environmental research projects/contractsHERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING ...
Conduct moderately complex detailed analyses of anthropogenic emissions inventory data. Develop ad hoc queries from multiple databases (State of Texas Air Reporting System and Texas Air Emissions Repository).Develop and evaluate plan and criteria for calculating, compiling, interpreting, and conducting quality assurance on anthropogenic emissions data. Work with Emissions Assessment Section staff to revise or update data and related development methods as necessary, verifying corrections were made in database.Prepare complex report, including State Implementation Plan (SIP) revisions, and presentations for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), management, legislative interests, and other stakeholders regarding air quality data and anthropogenic emissions. Presents findings to the public, other regulatory agencies, and management. Conducts peer review of technical reports, presentations, and documents.Organize, oversee, and coordinate project activities related to the development, quality assurance, and/or evaluation of emissions data, including grant and contract development and management.Actively works with Emissions Assessment Section staff and participates in national, state, or internal work groups to develop and improve air emissions estimates. May consult on database development projects as directed by management.Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Four years of full-time experience in data analysis, data research, data compilation; and/or reporting work.OR
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in engineering, basic science, computer science, environmental studies, mathematics, statistics or a related field; plus two years of the required experience.OR
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; plus three years of the required experience.Transcripts/ College Hours or Course Work: See instructions on how to attach documents. A copy of your official college transcript or evaluation of foreign credentials in CAPPS is required if needed to meet the qualifications listed above.
