Description
SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Space and Intelligence Business Group in our Chantilly, VA office. This group provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operations of the network infrastructure supporting a globally dispersed set of researchers. A key responsibility is to ensure this infrastructure is current and installing hardware and software and monitoring the infrastructure to optimize performance. In addition, the Senior Network Engineer supports the administration by maintaining, configuring, and operating network servers, server virtualization systems, and workstations. Our program supports the research and development of the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.
The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and scientist developing and implementing the future ground-based architecture. This position provides network engineering service to an organization supporting the research and development of revolutionary ground-based systems. This position will support the development and execution of an international network supporting collaborative research and development activities.
Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly
Must have a bachelor’s degree with minimum of nine (9) years relevant work experience or seven (7) years with master’s degree
Must be DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant
Work with government technical and contract staff to design, acquire, install, test, and manage a network supporting international research and development partners
Support the administration of Windows servers, teleconferencing solution, and telephone services
Work with government technical and contract staff to implement advanced network solutions
Draft security documentation supporting the accreditation of the network and servers
Desired Qualifications:
Work with technical staff to capture technical and network requirements
Design and implement network solutions to support international research and development activities
Draft common acquisition artifacts such as statement of work, CDRLs, In Scope Determination, and proposal evaluation criteria
Provide operations and maintenance services of the network infrastructure and Windows servers
