Genesis10 is currently seeking a Sr. Product Owner with our client in the financial industry located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12 + month contract position.Responsibilities:
Understand and anticipate the needs of the stakeholders and customers with ability to translate business needs into requirementsAct as primary communicator and liaison between the stakeholders and the team and ensure all channels of communication are open as requiredDefine strategic and tactical vision for the productAnalyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goalsEnsure that the team is always working towards delivering the highest business valueInspect progress at the end of every iteration (sprint/PI) with complete authority to accept or reject work doneCapture stakeholder feedback during reviews to refine existing product backlog items or create new ones for future considerationChange the course of the increment at the end of every iteration, as necessary, to ensure that the desired business value is deliveredHelp the team prioritize risk mitigation and technical debt reductionConvey the vision/objective and key results; and ensuring it is understood by all stakeholdersConvey the objectives at the beginning of every release/iteration and ensure it is understood by the teamWrite product backlog items along with acceptance criteriaEnsure the refinement of requirements (work) occurs so that the development team can confidently commit to the completion/delivery of workContinuously prioritizing and sequencing the backlog to ensure that the team can deliver the highest business value iteratively and incrementallyParticipate in the check-ins, planning meetings, reviews, retrospective and refinement as determined and defined by the teamMake the work visible and transparent to the teamMitigate identified risk, taking inputs from all members of the team and prioritizing risk backlog items appropriatelyServe as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions
Requirements:
5 + years of experience in product development with demonstrated knowledge in product development, agile methodology and backlog managementDemonstrate experience of successful product release and subsequent user adaptionUnderstanding of business value related to features and functionsSharp analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholdersOutstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skillsExperience influencing at senior levels across matrixed structures to drive outcomesExperience in using tools such as JIRA/Confluence for managing backlogsProven experience building long term roadmaps for complex technical productsProficiency with applicable project management tools and technologyStrong knowledge PowerPoint and Excel
