Basic QualificationsRequires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.Responsibilities for this PositionROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:As an Advanced Cloud DevOps and Platform Engineer, you will:Develop, evolve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines: Automating integration and deployment processes to ensure smooth and frequent releases by project teams (ie. GitLab CI).Infrastructure management: Automating and managing the infrastructure provisioning and configuration to support scalability and reliability (ie. Terraform, Ansible).Ensuring security integration: Implementing security automated measures at every stage of the software development lifecycle to prevent vulnerabilities.Collaboration: Working closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a culture of shared responsibility.Scripting and coding: Writing scripts and code to automate processes and integrate various systems and tools (ie. Python, Terraform ,Ansible).Continuous improvement: Continuously looking for ways to improve processes, tooling, and the overall system performance and security.Driving cloud solutions to realize benefits: Leverage cloud (ie. AWS/Azure GovCloud) for increased workflow efficiencies and realized scalable virtualized test environments. (ie. digital twins)In this role, you are the Platform Engineer working with Critical internal and external Platform Consumers. Together with the MUOS Tools team, you will support successful implementation of a PaaS in the Cloud through architecture guidance, best practices, data migration, implementation, troubleshooting, monitoring, and more.Candidates should have demonstrated strengths and experience in some of the following areas:Experience working with, or are familiar with the differences between, public (AWS, Azure), private (Nutanix, GovCloud), and mixed cloud environmentsContainer technologies such as Docker, or KubernetesDeployment of continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or ChefExperience maintaining production-grade applications in virtualized environments (cloud computing platforms and services) using automationCreation of pipelines, Ansible Playbooks, and/or Terraform configurations to automate administrative actions from resource creation to service configurationEffective communication and attention to detailOther beneficial experience:IT security practices including encryption, certificates, key management, patch management, STIG, RMF, or security hardening, and auditingManagement of Cloud Resources in Amazon Web Services, and/or AzurePlatform as a Service (PaaS) technologies such as Kubernetes, Rancher, or OpenShiftCloud automation tooling such as Ansible, TerraformOpen source server, messaging, load balancing, and database software (such as RabbitMQ, Redis, Elasticsearch)Scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers (NGINX)/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)What sets you apart:Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the systems development life cycleCollaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for successExceptional communication, presentation, and influence management skills, with notable record of securing buy-in on concepts and ideasExperienced in the art of negotiation with ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutionsCommitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and othersWorkplace Options:This position is remote.Target salary range: USD $107,520.00/Yr. - USD $119,280.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
