In this role, you'll play a vital part in a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team dedicated to data integration and analytics, including model-based analytics, to enhance decision-making for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). As a successful candidate, you'll thrive in an Agile environment, collaborating with a team of highly skilled professionals to tackle intricate technical challenges. Join us and contribute to innovative solutions that make a meaningful impact.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and deploy data pipelines and architecturesCreate conceptual, logical, and physical models including but not limited to data dictionaries, data flows, and data model designsIntegrate multiple data sources for digital integration and decision supportProvide data engineering support to software development, systems engineering, and analysis teamsMentor junior team members and provide technical leadershipEnsure data security and compliance
Job Requirements
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field8+years' experience in data engineering or related field, including experience working the front-end and the back-end of data applicationsIntermediate or better proficiency in SQLThorough understanding of data security principles, agile methodologies, and best practices in software development and data operations.Experience in data operations, data governance and data management, including data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage.Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to data security and privacy (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)Ability to work independently and/or as part of a teamExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsEnergetic, motivated, self-starting, proactive
Preferred Qualifications:UML experienceSPARQL and Python experienceExperience working in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environmentKnowledge of MDA organization, processes, and proceduresUnderstanding of the Missile Defense System, particularly Groundbased Midcourse Defense (GMD)
