L3Harris is looking for a dynamic, hands-on leader for our software team. This position is responsible for performing to contract requirements, cost, and schedule while achieving functional and business objectives throughout the development lifecycle. This position will manage a team of about 10 software engineers. This team is responsible for software solutions for all branches of the military as well as the intelligence community. Your work will contribute directly to the security of our nation. This position also requires proven leadership skills and experience with responsibility over software engineering and communications technology.

Position Responsibilities Include:Executing software development in a cost effective and time efficient manner.Reports directly to a Sr. Manager in the Software organizationAccountability to both L3H internal and external customers for Cost and Schedule performance on Programs, IRaDs, and Internal Orders.Management of Engineering Overhead funds and efforts with a focus on contributions to the Direct Labor Base.Coordination and senior review of bid and proposal efforts for all related technology design and development efforts.Manage relationships with external hardware and software vendors.Participation in technical and programmatic discussions with customers ensuring that expectations of all are understood and managed.Contribute to new business pursuits by growing cross-functional relationships in New Business Development and across Business Areas.Mentor and motivate staff and engineers in a professional Engineering environment and grow group leadership talent.Hiring qualified staffTechnical training of qualified staff members and advancement of the state-of-the-art technology through appropriate industry interaction and continued education of technical staff.Contribute to development of new and innovative technologies and processes, including idea submission for internal research and development (IRAD) investments and execution of funded IRAD and Internal Order projects.Contribute to the creation and implementation of strategic plans and technology development roadmaps for Networking.Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related engineering experience.Preferred Qualifications:

BS in EE, CS, CE, or equivalent degree.A strong background in software development.Knowledge of various waveforms and wireless communicationsOpen source Linux developmentProven record of successfully leading large project planning and development activities.Significant experience in bidding new technical work and related activities.Ability to effectively communicate, including demonstrated presentation skills.Excellent analytical skills to evaluate data, fiscal or technical, from which decisions are made, and a demonstrated ability to build consensus cross functionally.Excellent mentoring skills.Ability to handle stressful situations while dealing professionally with all aspects of the situation and organization.A demonstrated history of embracing change and continually pushing for organizational improvement.Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance
