The Internal Network Technician I for Peñasco Valley Telephone Cooperative, Inc. and its subsidiaries provides operations and software support to Intranet users; assists in administering the network, design, implementation, organization, and troubleshooting.

Essential Job Functions:

Surveys performance and operating needs and goals of LAN users.Interfaces with users, consultants, technical teams and vendors to provide timely answers to hardware and software questions; can readily answer "most frequently asked" questions; searches operations manual, help files, knowledge bases, and other reputable internet resources for answers to complex questions.Assists in the installation, customization and maintenance of computer networking devices and software. Provide network users access to enter and retrieve information via the network and to utilize appropriate network and cloud services.Maintain and troubleshoot corporate VOIP phone systemDevelops and monitors appropriate security procedures to safeguard system from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized access, and damage to data.Facilitates PVT automation initiatives and projects by assisting in development, utilizing technology expertise, project management tracking, heading up tasks, end user training and assistance, monitoring progress and working toward goal completion.Does not use administrative privileges to access unauthorized data.Keeps confidential any sensitive information inadvertently observed in course of performing duties.Assists users with day-to-day help desk requests, including but not limited to installation of software, installation of hardware, workstation maintenance, and troubleshooting issues with software, hardware, access, and network connectivity.Assists in maintenance and repair of equipment when necessary.Works closely with network team to identify trends and collaborate on solutions to difficult problems.Recommends specific training for users and identifies sources of training.Attends training sessions on new products and provides input for the development of user manuals for these products and to suggest products that will improve efficiency for the company.Assist IT team in securing data and with daily backups.Uses safety equipment; utilizes safety practices; attends and participates in designated cooperative safety and training meetings; abides by the company's safety manual.Places a premium on customer satisfaction; and makes every attempt to perpetuate PVT Cooperative's and its subsidiaries positive image in all subscriber customer related service activities.Other tasks and assignments as needed.Other Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Basic knowledge of and experience with PC's, laptops, network printers, multi-factor authentication methods, fax, and servers with knowledge of hardware and software technology; experience with current Windows server, Active Directory, Office 365, and VMware, server backup solutions, and Microsoft 365 Cloud applications is preferred. Sound analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work well with others; communicates effectively orally; professional in all circumstances; and team player.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or GED. Associate's degree or higher (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Must have experience with Internet access, multiple business software packages including Microsoft desktop operating systems and software, server operating systems and software, and network technologies as is relevant to PVT's corporate and customer network environments.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Must have, or be able to obtain, and maintain a valid New Mexico state driver's license, have an excellent driving record and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy.

Other Qualifications and/or Credentials:

Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, and/or other relevant technical certifications.

Working Conditions:

Good working conditions with the absence of disagreeable conditions. Climate controlled building with adequate lighting and space. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
