Senior Network Engineer

This is a 12-18 month contract with Fidelity. Candidate needs to come onsite 1 week in a month. Candidates local to TX or near highly preferred. All visa open but avoid H1B.

The Senior Network Engineer within Global Network Services Advanced Network Support will be responsible for support and maintenance of Fidelity Investments Internet work services, including routers and switches, load balancing and security for the company. This will include supporting the network platforms on the Fidelity Managed Network, including routers and switches as well as Internet/Extranet platforms that provide network security, load balancing and balanced file transfer. Typical duties will include fixing a highly complex Internet/Extranet environment traversing multiple platforms, performing routine maintenance on multiple platforms, supporting Network engineering groups on projects such as certifying new architectures, code upgrades as well as securing the environment through tactical organizational change.
Primary Responsibilities
Handle and Maintain highly sophisticated firewall and network environmentsSupport Internet/Extranet Engineering through use of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, various proxy gateway and other network security devices to provide defense-in-depth protection from cyber security threatsSupport Routed/Routing Protocols: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF, VPNsNetwork Change ImplementationImplement code upgrade/hot fix from vendorChange verification/validation with customerAssist in solving related to changeSolve all issues related to Internet/extranet network as well as internal network connectivity issuesDocumentation of complex technologies and topologiesVendor management for multiple platformsSupport the environment in an on-call rotationHave the flexibility to work varying shiftsSkills and Knowledge

The Advanced Network Services team within Global Network Services is primarily responsible for Level 2 Operations for our customers including: Security Protection, DNS, Application Traffic Management, Managed File Transfer, Remote Access, Proxy Firewalls, Routers and Switches and WAN/LAN connectivity.
