The Floral Designer provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and provides the quality products that Adams is known for. This means providing outstanding customer service, keeping displays and coolers stocked, neat, clean and attractive, and being the final line for quality control in the department.

Job Description:Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable serviceGreet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at AdamsWhen a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at handKeep all areas of the department clean and organized, including sales floor, counters, shelves and displaysWrapping/packaging products attractivelyClean/prep fresh flowers upon deliveryAssist customers with selecting & arranging bouquetsAbility to create a simple corsage or boutonniereReport inventory needs to manager and/or order merchandiseCreate corsages and boutonnieresAbility to learn the product lineCreate everyday floral arrangements for cash and carry saleCreate silk and dried arrangements, wreaths and swagsFulfill special orders to customer specificationsTake phone and Internet ordersPerform wedding and event consultationsCreate all levels of wedding floral designCreate all levels of funeral floral designConsult with customers formally and informally to understand their needsAbility to stay on top of floral trendsClean and prep fresh flowersComplete cash register transactionsKeep workspace clean, safe & organizedAttractively wrap and package productsIf assigned, receive, unload and inspect deliveriesIf assigned, create bud vases and simple arrangementsIf assigned, make bowsIf assigned, purchase and order productsPhysical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.Carry garbage/boxes to compactorsAble to safely use knives and scissorsStand for long periods of timeAbility to use hot glue gunAbility to safely handle all floral toolsUse hand, wrist and armsRepetitive motion - trimming and arranging flowersMental/Reasoning Requirements:
Basic math skillsKnowledge design techniquesCustomer service/relations skillsAbility to learn & utilize new techniquesCommunicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managersKnowledge of flower care and handlingMust be able to follow safety procedures
