Departmental Overview
Compensation$22.00-$35.93/hr. based on previous work experience.Evening differential $2.00/hr.Night differential $2.50/hr.Weekend differential $2.50/hr.Our outpatient lactation consultant provides comprehensive care to women and their babies in the outpatient settings. We focus our efforts on the family and the unique needs each new addition brings. Our primary goals are safety and support for each new family. Lactation Service consultant assists with breastfeeding support from delivery and throughout their breastfeeding journey.Job Summary
IBCLC essential functions include providing clinical lactation care and management to breastfeeding families, collaborating with other healthcare team members, and providing education to a variety of audiences during prenatal period and on an outpatient basis.
Qualifications
EducationAssociates degree.Current International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.Experience36 months previous experience working as a lactation consultant OR breastfeeding peer counselor, La Leche league leader, or healthcare provider in maternal/child health.Registered Nurse license or dietician preferred, but not required.Licensure / CertificationCurrent International board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC).Current BLS certification requiredParticipate in and provide breastfeeding education and trainings for healthcare providers.
