Summary

The IT Support Engineer is the junior administrator of many internal practices to enhance the performance of our systems, applications, and processes. This role will learn, evaluate and document the ITS environment to enhance support services within the organization. Windows administration, system monitoring, patch compliance, troubleshooting backup failures, and an escalation contact for complex help desk issues are the primary objectives of the IT Support Engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.Install and Configure Windows-based server solutions while working with software teams to ensure configuration meets our company standards.Deliver escalated technical support for all complex help desk issues.Performs checks to make sure agents, ITS tools, and applications are consistent across all End Points.This job requires the ability to troubleshoot and isolate issues with backup failures, patch failures, etc.Assist in managing Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNSWork with VMware vCenter to update Windows Templates and deploy Windows Server 2019.File Server administration to deploy file shares and maintain share permissions.Administer Print Servers by updating and configuring print drivers, printer shares, and maintaining ERP defined printers.Maintains patching compliance and provides updates on progress through reporting tools.Identify and resolve issues found through system and log monitoring tools.Configure and administer UPS battery backup systems to alert based on event action.Monitor and check server/network healthUtilize and tune monitoring tools to ensure we are proactive with resolutions.Ensure workflow process are optimized to make sure end users are successful.Engage in support calls with hardware vendors to extend the lifetime of our infrastructure and client devices.MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Client/Server architecture.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours to complete implementations and resolve issues.Analytical skills - Ability to use critical thinking and reasoning skills to solve problemsAbility to move items weighing up to 25 pounds.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

A teammate in this position must have:

Bachelor's degree in information systems or related experience.Server + CertificationMinimum of 3-5 years, experience providing technical support within a Microsoft Windows and VMware environment. Intermediate understanding of Active Directory Domain Services, Active Directory Certificate Authority, Group Policy, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Desktop Services.Microsoft Certified - MCSA (Preferred)Experience with Windows Power Shell scripting and deployment. (Preferred)3 - 5 years of VMware vSphere and vCenter Experience3 - 5 years of Experience in a Windows Enterprise Environment (1000+ Clients)

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of various software programs.
