The Remote Support Operations Engineer provides control and monitoring support for specific industrial battery energy storage facilities under the jurisdiction of Tesla and governing bodies. This primarily involves continuously monitoring the site for any abnormalities and deviations from expected operating behavior and expeditiously acting when required, as well as adjusting the control/operating mode of the system as required by the governing bodies. This includes escalating to engineering teams for rapid issue resolution, as well communicating with the governing bodies to notify them of the situation and action plans.For this position Remote Support Engineers will work a paired graveyard shift position, working 10-hour shifts, 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m, PST, supporting a 24/7 environment. Scheduled shifts are Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday, typically 3 days off. Shift times and coverage will be based on the business need. Conversion to day shift hours is possible when business need changes.Onsite role: Fremont (Page location), Palo Alto, or Lathrop, CA

Responsibilities

Monitor battery system performance and availability to ensure contractual obligations are being metHandle after-hours customer escalations via Tesla hotline system.Monitor and respond to alarms annunciated on Tesla's proprietary monitoring platform, communicating and escalating any issues to engineering and O&M teamsAct as the main point of contact for the governing bodies regarding required shutdowns, or events affecting facility operationRespond, communicate, and escalate abnormalities with the Tesla's proprietary monitoring systems, including proposing improvements to increase the effectiveness of the monitoring systemRespond, communicate, and escalate any cybersecurity concernsPrepare documentation for governing and regulatory bodies, such as NERC, ERCOT, BOA, etc.Requirements

Capable of working in a 24/7 environment, working 10-hour shifts, including weekendsExperience in a customer service environmentGrasps basic concepts of electricity (AC/DC, current, voltage, resistance, power, etc), and interpret electrical single line diagramsExperience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft ExcelExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to independently make decisions, and escalate when necessaryEnthusiasm for green technologyCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$30.50 - $58.33/hour, depending on level + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
