Senior Data Modeler| Hybrid
We are looking for a Senior Data Governance Engineer / Data Modeler to join our team. You will perform modeling activities on the client's Data Platform, playing a crucial role in shaping data architecture and driving data modeling best practices. You will be responsible for technical development and adherence and recommendations for data standards. You will report to the Data Governance Engineer Principal.
What you do:
You will analyze, design and implement data models
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
Create data models optimized across different data domains
Increase models for data query performance using best practices
Work with business analysts, data architects, data engineers, & BI developers
You will provide technical leadership and mentorship to data modelers and other team members, promoting a culture of learning and improvement
Translate enterprise requirements into data models
Implement data governance policies to ensure data quality, integrity, and security
You will define, review and document data modeling and design standards
Perform hands-on modeling, design, configuration, development, and performance tuning
You will work with other data governance team members to provide input to policies, standards, processes, and procedures for data governance, data access, privacy, and security.
You will address project requirements.
What you bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or a related field, or comparative work experience; Advanced degree preferred
4+ years in data modeling, data analytics, or data architecture
Experience with Erwin, IDERA Data Architect, or other modeling tools
Knowledge of cloud-based architecture (e.g. Azure, Fabric)
Knowledge of SQL and its use in data access and analysis
Proficiency in data modeling for transactional, operational reporting, and analytical solutions (EDW, Data Lake)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
