Columbia, MissouriABOUT THE JOBTo perform duties related to the ongoing implementation, maintenance, and review of the Hospital Chargemaster (CDM) to insure that it is complete, accurate, and standardized with regards to revenue capture, revenue improvement opportunities, hospital patient charge setting, accurate billing, and compliance with governmental and third party requirements, contract terms, and regulations.SALARY RANGE

Learn more about living in Columbia, MO.EMPLOYEE BENEFITSHealth, vision, and dental insurance coverage starting day oneGenerous paid leave and paid time off, including 9 paid holidaysMultiple retirement options, including 100% match up to 8% and full vesting in three yearsTuition assistance for employees (75%) and immediate family members (50%)Discounts on cell phone plans, rental cars, gyms, hotels, and more.See a comprehensive list of benefits here.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerform a variety of tasks and maintain documentation systems related to periodic reviews, including external reviews by auditors, and contracted consultants, of the CDM.Perform a variety of tasks in the resolution and/or rebilling of hold bills, claim edits, claim rejections, claim denials, and underpayments related to the CDM.Perform a variety of tasks related to, but not limited to, patient charge methodology, pricing transparency, revenue optimization, and billing compliance.Perform a variety of tasks to monitor and communicate changes to coding and billing requirements from governmental and commercial payers that impact the CDM.Perform a variety of tasks, in conjunction with clinical departments and related computer systems, to maintain an up-todate, complete, accurate, and compliant CDM.Perform a variety of tasks, in conjunction with clinical departments and related computer systems, to ensure revenue capture, reconciliation, and posting to the IDX Hospital Patient Account system.May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in nursing, medical records, hospital administration, business, finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare field.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSCertified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H) certification by American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.Equal Opportunity EmployerThe University of Missouri System is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
