Apex Systems is seeking experience Data Center Technicians for a large technology client in a Data Center in Cheyenne, WY. This position is a contract position on 6 mo. rolling contract terms. The position is fully onsite and must be willing to work on selected schedule.*** WE CANNOT WORK CORP-TO-CORP OR PROVIDE SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS POSITION. Possibility of future conversion to FTE)100% OnsiteWork Schedule will be one of the following:A Side Day Shift - Sunday - Tuesday, every other Wednesday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PMB Side Day Shift - Thursday - Saturday, every other Wednesday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PMA Side Night Shift - Sunday - Tuesday, every other Wednesday 7:00 PM - 7:00 AMB Side Night Shift - Thursday - Saturday, every other Wednesday 7:00 PM - 7:00 AMSummary:The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions.This position will prepare, stage, set up, and perform startups and shutdowns (e.g., racks, hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and emails. Performs post-execution quality checks and verifies that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs). Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifies the cause(s) of issues, and replaces faulty components. Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g., memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance. Follows procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate Datacenter Technician LeadsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma, GED, or equivalentRequired Skills/Technologies:Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components.1+ year(s) experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word)Flexibility to work non-standard business hours that may include weekends and/or holidays.Previous datacenter experience a plus
