Quality Assurance Engineer

Job Title: QA EngineerLocation: San Mateo, CA (HYBRID)Duration: 6 MonthsJOB DESCRIPTIONCandidates are required to have manual QA testing experienceIn this role, you will:Develop and execute manual test cases for the client's Worksheets product, covering both basic and advanced use cases to ensure quality.Ensure accurate execution of SQL queries in Worksheets, validating outputs, performance, and error handling within different environments.Document defects, track resolutions, and provide detailed reports to the engineering team.Collaborate with product managers and engineers to understand requirements and develop effective testing strategies.Participate in cross-team meetings to stay aligned with project goals and timelines.You:Have experience in manual QA testing, including creating detailed test plans and test cases.Are skilled at integrating with a team to understand complex workflows.Understand SQL, data workflows, and test automation fundamentals.Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to articulate testing needs.Demonstrate a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues.Are comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.Bonus if you:Have expertise in client, particularly with SQL worksheets.Have experience with UI testing automation tools.Are skilled in debugging and root cause analysis.Have experience working with TypeScript or Java.Have familiarity with performance testing and load testing.Understand agile methodologies and have experience working in Agile teams.General QA dutiesBeing a mentor and a catalyst of quality focused activities.Using various techniques and skills to mitigate risks.Treating testing as continuous activity throughout the entire delivery pipelinePromote the quality as a whole team's responsibility.Being a guardian of the business value.Proposing and implementing more efficient testing procedures.Making suggestions for changes and improvements to projects and products.Working in close cooperation with the Developers & PM crew on the implementation of appsIdeal Candidate Attributes:Proactiveness/Responsiveness in enhancing QA processTransparency in commsTimely feedbackingAbility to be flexible when it comes to tooling/envsKnowledge about/experience in working with BigData / DataWarehouse / DataLake / Data ModellingGood knowledge of CI/CD concepts / experience in working within CI/CD setup
