Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a highly qualified Software Engineer, SME in support to the upcoming

LONG-RANGE ENTERPRISE INTELLIGENCE, SURVEILLANCE, AND RECONNAISSANCE ACTIVITY

(LEIA). As part of a highly talented, motivated, team, you will support a fast-paced program delivering a broad spectrum of Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Cyber Defense, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C6ISR) capabilities to support SOCPAC missions and it's AORs. As a Software Engineer SME your duties and responsibilities will include:Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.

Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications softwareConducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with system engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.Analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time constraints.Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.Translate detailed design into computer software.Enhance software to reduce operating times or improve efficiency and ensures software standards are met.Performs reverse engineering..Qualifications

Required QualificationsPosition requires an active TS/SCI clearanceRequires a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with 12+ years of software engineering development experience on host applications and/or embedded processing systems; four years of additional software development experience may be substituted for degree.Experience with Windows and Linux applications, systems and API developmentAbility to contribute to system-level design in order to optimize overall system performance and reliability;4 years' in-depth experience with Windows and Linux applications, systems and API development6 years' experience in the use of programming languages such as Bash, Python, C, C++, C# and .NET Framework3 years' experience in the use of programming languages such as Qt and Meta Object Complier (moc)Experienced at providing technical direction to programmers to ensure program deadlines are met

Desired Qualifications:Familiarization of IT Security/Cybersecurity vulnerabilities mitigationKnowledge and experience with CMMI Level 2 or higherExperience with problem solving, multi-tasking, and pays attention to detailsStrong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication skillsExperience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.Ability to work independently and as a member of a team to deliver outstanding results#LeiaPeraton Overview

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
