Job Title: DevOps Engineer
Role Type: Contract 9 + months – good chance of extensions and/or perm rollover
Location: Remote EST (onsite quarterly to D.C, Maryland or Virginia office)

PURPOSE:
Performs complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software ranging from operating system architecture integration and software design to selection of computer systems, language, and/or equipment. Designs, develops/codes, tests, and documents critical and complex application programs for computer systems. Works with appropriate stakeholders to define system scope and objectives and establish baselines. Establishes project standards and processes. Breaks down software requirements and creates highly complex systems.
Qualifications
Experience with DevOps or Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS)
Linux and AIX
Experience with developing and troubleshooting Jenkins pipelines
Experience with creating and managing Bitbucket code repositories for multiple projects, branches.
Knowledgeable on tagging, branching, merging
Experience using code quality tools such as SonarQube
Experience using configuration yamls, pipeline as code highly desirable
Experience developing python scripts for automation
Experience developing and implementing Ansible playbooks for automation of operational processes
Experience with developing and troubleshooting Jenkins pipelines
Experience with Sterling B2B Integrator software product nice to have but not required
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to communicate technical requirements to all levels of expertise.
Proficient in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
Proficient with integrating complex and/or existing systems
Knowledge of programming languages - Python, etc.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Knowledge of cloud technologies - AWS preferred Azure
Knowledge of database technologies (e.g. cloud, SQL, Oracle, Mongo DB, PostgreSQL,
etc.)
Proficient knowledge of software engineers best practices, agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines
Knowledge of test-first practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD) for unit tests and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) for automated acceptance tests.
Strong experience with Deployment/Continuous Integration/ Continuous Testing/ Continuous Delivery processes and tools and have expertise in CI/CD tools and framework.
Knowledge of Code quality and promotion practices.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using Terraform or CloudFormation.
Hands-on experience with Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef
Experience with cloud native CI/CD workflows and tools, including Jenkins, Bambo, ArgoCD, and/or GitLab
Solid knowledge of Java/J2EE methodology and frameworks
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Education Details: Information Technology or Computer Science
Experience: 5 years’ experience with software development, basic coding and compilation, software architecture/design, user requirements definition and software specification development.
In Lieu of Education
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
