Senior Data Modeler

Techstra is seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler. As a proficient modeler, you will lead data analysis efforts and perform data analysis tasks across various projects with a wide range of scope, intricate business needs, and technical requirements within a tightly coordinated multi-platform data environment. This role focuses on analysis and design, involving the creation and refinement of data solutions and models, which will subsequently be provided to developers, engineers, and DBAs for implementation.From the day you join, you will hit the ground running surrounded by amazing people. Here is a look at some of the expectations and responsibilities for this position:ResponsibilitiesEnsure data accuracy, consistency, and quality by implementing data validation and cleansing processesIdentify and resolve data-related issues and errors, ensuring data integrity and availabilityMaintain comprehensive documentation of data models, database schemas, and data flow processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand and address data requirementsDevelop and maintain data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, to meet business requirementsDesign and optimize data structures, tables, and schemasTransform raw data into meaningful insights by creating views, stored procedures, and other data transformation mechanismsExperience with cloud native data warehousing and data lake solutionsRequirements:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a technology related field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) with a focus on data analysis, data structures, or data modeling7+ years experience in Utility domain knowledge required (outage, geodata, meters, etc)Experience with Erwin Data Intelligence, ERStudio or similar modeling tools, and required experience with Data Sourced from OMS, ADMS and CC&B desiredHands-on experience with physical and relational data modelingExperienced in design of Conceptual, Logical and Physical models to represent business conceptsProficient in 3NF, Star Schema, Dimensional and Data Vault modeling techniquesIn-depth knowledge of data warehousing, an understanding of database structures, design, theories and SCD (slowly changing dimensions) principlesExperience working with cloud-based environments (Azure) Storage and Database servicesExpert knowledge of metadata management and related toolsAdvanced troubleshooting skillsPrepare the Standard Operating Procedures with DB modellingStrong SQL writingExperience working with complex and potentially un-structured data sets JSON, XML, ParquetStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent communication and presentation skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills
