As part of our continued growth and digital transformation efforts, we are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team on a contract basis.Position Overview:The Data Engineer will play a critical role in managing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our data architecture. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, data science, and business units, to support data-driven decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering within the energy and utilities sector.Key Responsibilities:Data Pipeline Development:

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze large datasets from various sources.Data Integration:

Integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data consistency, quality, and availability for analytical and operational needs.Data Modeling:

Develop and optimize data models to support efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of data.ETL Processes:

Implement and manage ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.Collaboration:

Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.Data Quality:

Monitor and improve data quality, implementing best practices for data governance and security.Performance Optimization:

Optimize database performance and query execution, ensuring the system meets performance standards.Documentation:

Create and maintain detailed documentation of data engineering processes, workflows, and systems.Qualifications:Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience:Proven experience as a Data Engineer, preferably within the energy and utilities industry.Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data warehousing solutions, and ETL tools.Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.Skills:Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and data architecture best practices.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
