Transportation Specialist

Description: NSI requires a Transport Specialist to perform the following duties:

* Complies with applicable policies and directives such as the Security Assistance Management Manual (SAMM) and Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) to facilitate the delivery of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) weapon systems

* Coordinate with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Naval Supply Systems Command NAVSUP), Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA), Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), Defense Contract Management Agency, Freight Forwarders, Warehouses, and other industry professionals for development of Transportation Plans, storage, receipt, and shipment of FMS cargo.

* Perform Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) reviews using the Pre-Case Transportation Assessment process to ensure appropriate Delivery Term and Offer Release Codes are applied to the case

* Perform FMS contract reviews for accuracy in accordance with Security Cooperation regulations

* Perform the Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) Delivery Term Code (DTC) "Treat-As" request process

* Perform Military Assistance Program Address Code (MAPAC) updates within the Military Assistance Program Address Directory (MAPAD)

* Create FMS Military Standard Requisition and Issue Procedures (MILSTRIPs) and Supplementary Addresses (SUPPADs) when requested

* Coordinate with the Deputy Assistant Program Manager for Logistics and other shippers to create shipping documentation such as the DD Form 1149

* Coordinate Special Airlift Assignment Mission (SAAM) flights

* Use Logistics web-based resources to ascertain cargo characteristics to assist with making specific FMS transportation decisions

* Brief the United States Government and the Foreign Partner regarding all facets of Security Cooperation Transportation for all FMS case meetings

Location: Lexington Park, MD

Education: High School Diploma required.

Experience: At least 2 years of direct DOD transportation experience is required. Must have experience using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

Security Clearance: Secret Clearance is Required. Must be U.S. citizen.
