This is a twelve-month position Grade P-17.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF WORK

The Director, Student Behavioral Health & Wellness, provides leadership in the areas of social-emotional and behavioral health interventions for Arlington Public Schools (APS). The Director collaborates regularly with school-based administrators, centeral office departments, and school-based student services staff to achieve the APS strategic plan goals and other Arlington School Board initiatives.RESPONSIBILITIES:ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK

The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)Directs all aspects of the behavioural health componets of the Medicaid in Schools program to include development of a sustainable training plan, ensuring timely submission of claims, and supporting the development and approval of required plan of care.Directs the development and implementation of county-wide behavioral health interventions that reflect the Strategic Plan Goals of Arlington Public Schools and the needs of the schools and students.Ensures that PK-12 students' needs are met by designing developmentally appropriate, sequential, and relevant programs.Provides professional devlopment including reporting to division leadership, school leaders, and the community on the evalusation and implementation of APS social-emothional instructional programs and initiatives.Directs and supervvises central office staff as assigned by the Executive Director of Student Services.Serves as liason to multiple community and state agencies and/or task forces.

EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Experience in supervision, evaluation. management of fiscal resources, and project management may be considered in lieu of this endorsement.Experience or knowledge of the Virginia Medicaid in Schools program.Experience in developing and leading professional learning or presentations for various stakeholders, including school boards, division leaders and school-based professionals.Experience in supervision and management of personnel.Experience in managing fiscal resources, including grant and reimbursed funds.In possession of a thorough knowledge of social-emotional competencies, curricular resources, and behavioral intervention programs.Demonstrated preprogram admen skills to include designing a proposal, creating a plan, implementing a program, and evaluating and communicating the results.QUALIFICATIONS:PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual skills preferred but not required.Doctoral degree preferred but not required.MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
