is looking for an Operational Buyer to join our Procurement Team in Wever, Iowa, at our OCI Nitrogen Iowa facility. Under Supervision, performs moderately complex purchasing duties with a high level of accuracy, to perform the full range of assigned tasks. These tasks relate to performing bid events, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with suppliers to meet the sites needs while minimizing cost. This individual will work on-site in a fast-paced work environment.Your scope of responsibilitySupport compliance to the procurement process at the site and increases involvement of procurement in alignment with the business.Facilitate continuous engagement with the stakeholder community in the procurement process and category management.Participate in projects with other OCI personnel to evaluate possible synergies and cost saving projects.Ensure on-going efficiencies of the procurement functions by supporting the progress being made regarding the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Work with requestors to understand requirements, specifications, and timing, to conduct competitive bidding process; this includes soliciting RFIs/RFPs and robust bid analysis & recommendations.Participate as a team member actively pursuing and implementing cost reduction ideas and opportunities.Monitor and expedite orders, resolve supply-related issues, and collaborate with internal teams to align purchasing activities and production schedules.Secure and analyze quotations; negotiate prices and terms with suppliers; and recommend suppliers with respect to cost, quality, and delivery.Monitor and communicate performance of suppliers.Participate in early planning for turnarounds and key projects.Ensure use of framework agreements and preferred supplier agreements.Research invoices that were rejected by Accounts Payable and assist with getting them processed.Perform other duties as required or assigned.What you bring to OCIEducation and Experience6+ years' relevant experience; or a combination of 6 years of education and experience (i.e., 2 years' experience and bachelor's degree in relevant field (supply chain management preferred))Procurement certification preferred (APICS, etc.)Experience with ERP systems required, preferably SAP (S4 Hana)Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS, PowerPoint) required.Skill ProficiencyPerform and evaluate bids and make objective awards valued up to $1 million.Work through complex agreements with guidanceThere is latitude for independent judgement.Recommends and applies the appropriate procurement strategy.Performs tasks within strategic sourcing strategy.Physical RequirementsBending, kneeling, lifting up to 25lbsIndustrial chemical plant environmentNoise levels may require hearing protection.BenefitsOCI offers a comprehensive, first-class benefits package starting the first day of the month following an employee's hire date.Medical insurancePrescription drug insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceLife insuranceDisability insurance401(k) program with company matching.Paid holidays.Paid time off (PTO)Company ProfileOCI Global is a leading global producer and distributor of nitrogen products and methanol providing sustainable solutions to agricultural and industrial customers around the world.
