Scope of Work:Troubleshoots and resolves escalated Access and CPE device field issues.Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps.Establishes security, connectivity and access parameters.Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure.Tests and tunes security devices and systems.Programs routers and switches.Implements communications technologies (data or voice).Manages network services from planning phase through implementation.Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies and network infrastructure is required.10 years of experience.Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standardsWorking knowledge of CMTS platforms including: Casa C100G, Arris E6000, Cisco cBR8, RPHY, Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs, Vecima RPDsWorking knowledge of EPON platforms including: ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210, Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3Working knowledge of switch platforms including: Cisco NCS/ASR, Juniper PTX/QFX/ACXWorking knowledge of routing protocols including: OSPF ISIS, BGP, v4/v6 MulticastAbility to write technical documentationAbility to write and follow detailed technical test plansCPE and ONU background in trouble shooting is highly desirableCreative Network Trouble Shooting Skills.Experience Needed:Field Issue Resolution Engineering (FIRE team)Really strong Docsis and a little PONSomeone who knows not everyone will have everything he needs. Will take some of the things on the job as long as have strong Docsis support experience.P0-P1 - troubleshoot - take information from the field. Reproduce in lab, work with vendors to see if the fix works - if it does - work with the vendor to implementCPE (customer premise equipment) - must haveFiber Optic NetworkRPhyOFMAPeople with vendor experience: sagent com, chip manufacturing, equipment vendors, software vendors.
