Summary:The Manufacturing Planner/ Buyer, is responsible for transactional buying, scheduling, planning, coordinating and monitoring the production and inventory requirements through the ERP processes in order to support overall demand. The Manufacturing Buyer/Planner will maintain good relations with suppliers, and support for Supply Chain objectives, goals, NPI, and KPI's. This position is located in our Madison, WI facility.

Responsibilities:Communicates directly with suppliers to place routine purchase orders, expedite, re-expedite, and process returned goods as appropriate to achieve production schedule balanced against inventories

Measures and reports on delivery performance of internal/external suppliers

Drives lean practices with respect to production, inventory, and administration

Performs cycle counting and WIP verification programs to maintain stock accuracy. Analyzes and reconciles variances, determining and solving root causes

Performs other responsibilities as assigned by manager

Manages return of rejected manufacturing materials, RMA's, opening of OSP MO's, and PO's to support procurement process for Service and Manufacturing material using MRP system.

Performs RMA and internal repair scheduling in the release, update, review, and closing of OSP job orders.

May assist other planner/buyers with material and capacity requirements and implementing manufacturing plans to support the master production schedule, customer order schedule and service inventory plans

May assist other planner/buyers by performing production scheduling in the release, update, review, and closing of job orders.

Will assist other planner/buyers in various day to day duties.

Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Production and Operations Management or related field is preferred; Associates degree and or/equivalent experience in production

3- 5 years in a Supply Chain role including Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and bill of materials, ECO's, MRB, and RMA's

Experience with safety and health (OSHA), FDA, and ISO quality system requirements

Understanding of quality assurance programs (ISO, FDA, and QRS), ERP Systems and their manufacturing related processes, and production floor process flows

Excellent verbal, written, and teamwork skills are required.

Computer skills including the use of standard office software programs including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and email applications

Must be self motivated with high energy level and a strong work ethic.

Commitment to high standards of excellence and integrity.

American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification preferred

Physical Requirements:The employee may lift and/or move physical inventory weighing up to 10-20 pounds.
