Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Software Developer to join our Submarine Combat System Development Team. In this role, you will be developing critical tactical software for the U.S. Navy submarine fleet, playing a key part in supporting mission-critical projects and ensuring seamless integration and functionality both in laboratory environments and onboard submarines.

The ideal candidate will bring expertise in software development, including client-server applications in a Linux environment, and proficiency with programming languages such as C/C++, QT, or Java. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Experience with the BYG-1 Combat Control System is a plus. This is a full-time position based either in Manassas, Virginia or Middletown Rhode Island. U.S. citizenship is required along with an active a DOD Secret Clearance. The annual base salary is $75,000 - $120,000, with final compensation based on experience and skills. Candidates will be paid within this range based on their work experience and skills.

You'll be responsible for:Developing

and maintaining software components in C/C++, QT, or Java to meet program needs.Collaborating

with cross-functional teams to resolve production and system integration issues in a lab environment and onboard U.S. Navy submarines.Troubleshooting

and fixing software defects to ensure the reliability and functionality of critical systems.Writing

and

maintaining

readable, maintainable, and efficient code.Working closely with engineers and technical teams to ensure the successful integration of software into existing systems.Supporting the development and testing of the Submarine Combat System in both simulated and real-world environments.Adhering to established software development standards and practices.

You'll need to have:

An active DOD Secret Clearance.A

Bachelor of Science

in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.0-5 years of experience in software development, specifically in client-server applications.Experience developing software in C/C++, QT, or Java.Strong knowledge of

Linux

environments and software development practices.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Familiarity with the

BYG-1

Combat Control System (preferred).
