Job Description

Proactively seeks out strategic business opportunities with high-level business unit executives. The Business Systems Consultant will be a crucial contributor to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business applications and data products related to Procurement. This role involves providing specialized technical or business expertise to system projects, managing applications, dashboards, and system data. The analyst will also be responsible for project management and data analytics tasks, which would include identifying, developing, and implementing dashboards/visualizations that enhance productivity. Manages change and leads, coordinates/performs testing, verification and validation of requirements.

Responsibilities

Works directly with business unit clients to analyze moderately to highly complex business requests, processes and data. Identifies and communicates resulting needs and opportunities for Procurement data insights to achieve standardized, transformed and cleansed data products delivered via Data Visualization via the Marketplace.

Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedures. Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative technology solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices.

Makes recommendations to process and data stakeholders regarding the correct approach to achieve improvement objectives. Understands the role of data in the broader context and provides recommendations regarding business process evolution.

Prepares project artifacts, including requirements documents, activity diagrams, use cases. Develops plans to achieve project outcome to ensure successful implementation; Leads agile project initiatives in compliance with SLC policies and DDP requirements.

Translate use cases into functional data products, involving data acquisition, data analysis, data preparation, data transformation, data modeling, visualization building, and presentation to the business areas. Refine visualization based on collected feedback.

Develops business relationships and integrates activities within other BTOs to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. Coordinates portfolio of projects and solutions and identifies interdependencies.

Allies with other BTOs to remain current on project status and inform customer management of progress; conversely, keeps BTS managers aware of user issues and resolves conflicts. Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulation on the organization’s use of information.

Has defined authority and responsibility for a significant area of work, including technical, financial and quality aspects. Establishes organization objectives and delegates assignments. Accountable for actions and decisions taken by self and subordinates.

Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed improvements and the technical solution to the business needs and the information upon which the business justification and prioritization decision are made. Also accountable for communicating the business need and drivers to develop groups to assure the implementation phase can fulfill the business need.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience; Master’s Degree with 6 years’ experience; PhD with 2 years’ experience.

Exercises latitude in approach to problem solving.

3 years’ experience with one or more Business Intelligence solution (Qlik Sense, PowerBI, Tableau, Dataiku, Python, etc.) and SQL language.

3 years’ experience with data analysis or statistics for data science plus experience with software development and quality assurance/SDLC and IT systems compliance.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​
