SOFTWARE ENGINEER
The Software Engineer will support our PM Tactical Network at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD with 3 days per week on site and 2 days per week telework.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support system integration which consists of upgrades, testing and configuration of network components on the Emulation Test Bed such as traffic stimulation (i.e., TGEN).
Support system testing by performing various tasks such as test-scenario development, network traffic stimulation (e.g., TGEN), system configurations, test-run execution and monitoring, network-data capture, data storage, and post-test database generation.
Data analysis that entails analyzing the network data collected from the test runs and producing data products for management review.
Develop and implement a test plan to validate major rewrite of a backend processor in C++.
Design and develop new GUI screen to display network performance statistics.
Update the TRANCE backend PCAP parser to recognize packets from various VLAN locations
Develop automated and customized set of SQL queries to analyze network statistics.
Troubleshoots external network issues as they arise.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field (work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)
SECURITY CLEARANCE
Active DoD Secret clearance required
TRAVEL
Some travel may be required.
