Job Summary:

DT Professional Services is seeking a SQL Developer with experience with Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and cloud environment experience to support the Office of Information Systems within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The DEA’s SQL Server-based EDW is used by a majority of DEA’s applications and is a critical component of statistical reporting.

An active Secret Clearance is required to start. This position is hybrid and requires 2 to 3 days per week onsite at the Merrifield, VA DEA Office.

Responsibilities:

Assist EDW Team and provide data warehouse information and/or systems transitioning to a cloud environment

Create and maintain database integrity and performance using scripts and/or VS Database Project

Create new and maintain/improve any and all data transformation services: Microsoft SSIS and others using VS data tools

Create SQL Scripts to deploy / enhance / maintain databases

Create and maintain database security, including, but not limited to: DB Roles, Users and Logins

May write reports or facilitate data access by other means as needed, to include SSRS, PowerBI, etc

Conducts performance tuning and database design, dimensional analysis and modeling

Maintain and add to an extensive set of SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS) packages for Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) data

Supports the review of database systems from non-Concorde applications in other DEA offices

Participates in daily Agile stand-up meetings and monthly planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospective sessions

Maintain, enhance, and create enterprise and application level SQL Server Report Service (SSRS) and other Business Intelligence (BI) tools (If requested, the EDW team will leverage SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) for performance purposes)

Multi-task and juggle competing priorities

Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

A DoD issued Active Secret Clearance is required to be considered

2+ years of Cloud environment experience (AWS or Microsoft Azure)

8 years of experience in the design, development and implementation of SQL Server databases creating and maintaining T-SQL Procedures, functions, packages and triggers

2+ years of experience with SSIS packages for data manipulation and loading

2+ years of experience with the SQL Server 2012 environment

Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline

Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and solve problems

Self-starter with the ability to identify what tasks need to be prioritized based on the impact(s) to the environment and team

Experience within an Agile development environment

Experience with Git and Python, and PowerShell

Experience with Azure DevOps Server

Experience with Power BI

Ability to write efficient SQL queries as well as demonstrated ability to interpret legacy scripts

Experience with multi-dimensional data models

Ability to create reports with a solid understanding of a variety of BI data tools

Experience with SSIS

Experience with data modeling programming and software development, including Python, R, or other high-level language used in statistical computing

Demonstrated ability and desire to learn new technologies

Knowledge of Kimball data warehouse methodology highly desired

Previous experience with Business Intelligence, Kimball Modeling and/or elastic search is desired

The compensation range for this position: $140,000 - $170,000 annually.
