Job Title Data Analyst

How will you make an impact?

Reporting into the leader of the Analytics team in Digital Commerce, the Data Analyst will provide analytics support for Thermo Fisher’s eCommerce platforms. This analytics team is part of a broader group called eBusiness, which is responsible for leading all aspects of the overall digital experience Thermo Fisher offers to its customers. Our objective is to build an industry-leading digital customer experience that enables scientific planning, execution, and analysis, while ensuring a seamless transactional experience throughout the digital ecosystem. You will be responsible for analytics, reporting, consolidation, forecasting, and planning - as well as deriving actionable insights that help drive overall efficiency, productivity, and revenue. The ideal candidate will have strong business insight, communication skills, and be technically adept at providing analytical solutions.

What will you do?

Expert SQL skills equipped to articulate what is needed to simplify and streamline reporting

Leverage visualization tools such as PowerBI to help businesses and senior leaders understand the impact of found opportunities

Assist in Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. reporting tools)

Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g. Microsoft Power BI / Tableau)

Working with and managing large multi-functional projects and IT implementations

Assist in collecting and stitching together data across various platforms and sources to assemble a complete view of web performance and standard reporting

Collaborate with multi-functional teams and business collaborators, skilled at managing various organizational requests and needs.

Derive data-driven insights to expose avenues for revenue expansion and cost optimization

Be able to ‘tell a story’ using analytics that identifies incremental revenue and efficiency opportunities. Uncover optimization opportunities applying data

Work toward real-time reporting to catch problems as they occur and drive corrective actions

Develop and implement database queries and conduct analyses

Create visualizations and reports for requested projects

Develop and maintain technical user documentation

Translate business needs to technical specifications.

Report curation and data modeling

Travel

Domestic and international travel of less than 10% of the time

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field.

Experience

3+ years of demonstrated ability analyzing large, complex data sets yielding opportunities for revenue and/or process improvement within an organization

Must have a high SQL knowledge

Knowledge of R, SAS, SPSS, Tableau, PowerBI, and Adobe a plus

Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology a plus

Knowledge of Data Science principles and models a plus

Social skills: exceptional verbal/written communication, listening and presentation skills with attention to detail

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Pennsylvania is $90,000.00–$105,000.00.
