Position Description

Designs and develops web-based applications using Java and test automation frameworks -- Spring Boot and Cucumber. Automates the integration of code changes from multiple contributors into a single software project through the use of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices and open source platforms. Delivers high quality, timely, cost effective, and maintainable software solutions in an agile environment to meet functional and non-functional business requirements. Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan computer software specifications on major projects and proposes modifications and improvements based on user need. Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience

Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing and maintaining high volume, low latency applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Nodejs, and test automation frameworks Cucumber, and deploying them to AWS Cloud platform.

Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, Electronics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing and maintaining high volume, low latency applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, Nodejs, and test automation frameworks Cucumber, and deploying them to AWS Cloud platform.

Skills and Knowledge

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) developing microservices using Cloud computing services - Amazon Web Services (AWS), Apache Kafka, REST, Hibernate, and Python.
  • DE integrating microservices with relational databases (Cockroach, Oracle, DB2, or Sybase) and non-relational databases (Dynamodb) using Spring Data JPA and DynamoDB AWS SDK for Java; writing and debugging Oracle queries and stored procedures using DBeaver and SQLDeveloper; and performing performance tuning PL/SQL using Explain plan.
  • DE performing DevOps engineering -- Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) using Jenkins, Concourse, Docker, uDeploy, or Terracore; setting up the Autoscaling group and Blue-green deployment for deploying microservices on AWS Cloud platform Kubernetes EKS, version control (using Bitbucket or GitHub); creating JUnit test scripts to unit test the code flow and application components using Mockito framework; and writing automated tests using Cucumber, Postman, Insomnia, or SoapUI.
  • DE setting up automated health monitoring, logging mechanism, creating dashboards for alerts in Splunk and DataDog using Splunk and DataDog; and setting up Autoscaling group as part of Cloud formation Template and automation of Cloud Governance Gates using Terracore modules.
