Senior Applications Engineer

IPG Photonics Corporation is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer in Novi, MI with the following requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Controls Engineering or related field or foreign equivalent degree. 5 years of experience in the High-Power laser related field.Required Skills: Develop process parameters for laser welding, cutting, and surface treatment applications to determine the laser and optical configurations for customer projects (4 yrs); Program industrial robots like Fanuc, Kuka, and ABB brands and set up communication between robots and different automation devices (5 yrs); Program CNC machines and rotatory stages using G and M codes (5 yrs); Read and analyze electrical drawings and program different automation devices, like PLCs, microcontrollers, sensors, and HMIs, to control a laser system to perform specific tasks (2 yrs); Interact with customers and analyze the information provided to conduct laser applications to meet requirements and provide a professional report (2 yrs); Up to 20% domestic travel required; Less than 5% remote work allowed and only as directed by the company; must live within normal commuting distance of Novi, MI.46695 Magellan Drive, Novi, Michigan 48377Exempt
