Job Description:
Are you a skilled Mainframe Cobol Programmer looking for a challenging and rewarding career?
We are seeking a talented Mainframe Cobol Programmer to join our dynamic team in Dimondale, Michigan. This is a hybrid position that requires onsite presence at our office twice a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
As a Mainframe Cobol Programmer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting our legacy systems.
Your responsibilities will include:
Writing and modifying system documentation
Developing and maintaining COBOL applications
Testing, implementing, and supporting mainframe systems
Providing technical support to team members
Evaluating new development tools and agency systems
Participating in data gathering, queries, and reporting
Interpreting legacy code and documentation
Ensuring secure coding and release management
Working independently and collaboratively
Leading meetings and providing clear communication
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in Mainframe Cobol programming
Ability to write detailed technical design documents
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in writing and modifying system documentation
Knowledge of project estimation and data capture software
Highly Desired Skills:
Experience with Xgen, Algol, Client, Bl products, Programmer's Workbench, Cande, DMSII, COMS, WFL, ERGO
