Ability to demonstrate expertise with High Availability and Disaster Recovery options, planning and implementation for MSSQL Server.Knowledge and understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments. Knowledge and experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques. Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices. Ability to perform the essential functions of this position.Support Month End/Year End Production ActivitiesResponsible for providing day-to-day support and maintenance for existing SQL databases that are under support.Accountable for identifying and tracking all databases by function, owner and application that are business critical in an agreed upon central location.Assist in the administration, management, and monitoring of all SQL database systems.Accountable for proper backup and disaster recovery procedures and documentation.Good understanding of Database Architecture, Performance tuning of databases, pro-actively Identify bottlenecks and resolve them quickly.Work with developers on performance tuning, query optimization, index tuningActively work with developers to solve database/application issues without compromising database best practices and work with them to promote changes to production.Support SQL database in external cloud and work with various cloud providers as required.Rotate with other DBAs to be on call to quickly fix issues that arise in our production and non-production environmentsBe part of a 24/7/365 on-call rotationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.5 + years of SQL DBA experienceRobust Ops foundation - you're always thinking "What happens if this fails" when you build things.Proficient in scripting and automationWorked with Machine Learning experts and Data Scientists to enable self-service data ingestion, transformation, visualization, reporting and advanced analytics (machine learning, AI).Strategic thinker and thrive operating in a broad scope, from conception through a continuous operation.Large enterprise database performance tuning experienceStrong communication skillsExperience directing other DBAsAdvanced SQL and PL/pgSQL programming skills, including concepts such as Covering Indexes, Triggers, Functions, Stored Procedures Materialized Views, etc.Experience with Snowflake or other BI applicationsStrong technical expertise in ML, AI, data preferred; experience working closely with data engineers, data science, and product teams to launch data productsSubject matter expert in all aspects of Data Management, Data Analytics and Operations ManagementThis position is located at Dublin HQ
