Position Summary

As a Lead Teacher of 3-5 year-old half day program plus after school program, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children at a crucial stage of their development. You will implement lesson plans and oversee daily activities. Your primary goal is to promote social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development while fostering a love for learning in young children.

Curriculum Development

-Implement lesson plans, activities, and educational materials based on established curriculum guidelines.-Incorporate various teaching strategies and methodologies to engage and challenge children's cognitive and social skills.-Integrate play-based learning approaches to stimulate creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Classroom Management

-Establish and maintain a safe and organized learning environment that encourages exploration, cooperation, and positive behavior.-Set clear expectations and rules for behavior and reinforce them consistently.-Manage transitions between activities effectively, ensuring smooth routines and minimal disruptions.

Instruction and Assessment

-Deliver engaging and interactive lessons that align with learning objectives and developmental milestones.-Employ a variety of teaching methods, such as group activities, individualized instruction, and hands-on experiences.-Observe and assess children's progress, documenting their achievements and identifying areas for improvement.-Provide regular feedback to parents or guardians on their child's development and address any concerns or questions.

Collaboration and Communication

-Collaborate with assistant teachers, aides, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.-Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain open lines of communication with parents or guardians, sharing updates on children's progress, challenges, and achievements.-Attend staff meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions to stay updated on best practices in early childhood education.

Health, Safety, and Well-being

-Implement health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with school regulations and maintaining a clean and secure classroom environment.-Foster a caring and supportive atmosphere that promotes children's social-emotional development and well-being.-Respond appropriately to behavioral issues, addressing conflicts and encouraging positive peer interactions.

Qualifications:

Experience in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Pass background check.

Prior experience working with young children, preferably as a lead teacher.

Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.

Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.

Organizational and time management skills to effectively plan and manage classroom activities.

Ability to adapt to different learning styles and individual needs within a diverse classroom.

Familiarity with technology and its integration into the learning environment is an asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
