Purpose

The TIE Semiconductor IT Manager is responsible for planning, deployment and management of networking equipment, servers, storage, backups, and endpoints at the Texas Institute for Electronics. This position will support approximately 30 staff and will grow to approximately 180 staff and will supervise a team of 3-5 employees.The role is expected to perform capacity analyses, design virtual environments, design VLANs to meet organizational requirements, and create standard deployment packages for endpoints as well as servers, and to ensure our security program is well maintained.

Responsibilities

Help Develop and Execute semiconductor-related IT components of TIE's strategic plan.

Supervise a team of 3-5 employees including a Developer, System Administrator, and an Endpoint Specialist.

Minimize and report on interruptions-to-production (ITP) in frequency and duration, ensuring high availability for cleanroom operations and design activities. Provides consistent support and a means of escalation to resolve ITPs.

Maintain endpoints for TIE, in coordination with UT's central services groups.

Consults with staff and leaders to fulfill requirements for data security, IT services, ITP communications (scheduled and unscheduled), and regulatory and legal responsibilities.

Create user accounts on multiple platforms, deploy and upgrade physical or virtual servers, install and upgrade software, and troubleshoot issues. Train users as needed.

Configure, deploy and maintain software and systems, ranging from windows-based machines to Unix and POSIX-compliant servers. Configure, deploy, maintain, and monitor backups. Manage Disaster Recovery plans.

Configure, deploy, and maintain Active Directory, including OUs, Groups, user accounts and utility/service accounts.

The Semiconducting IT Manager will be given project, activities, duties or other responsibilities according to the growth of the TIE organization and its mission.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Significant AD configuration experience

Significant TCP/IP experience

Experience using PowerShell

Experience using MCSE Windows Server version 2016 or newer

Be able to wear a bunny suit and enter a clean room

Experience with Linux/Unix (AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Ubuntu, RedHat, other POSIX-compliant OS)

Effective Troubleshooting Skills

Efficient Communication Skills

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications

Salary Range

$120,000 + depending on qualificationsWorking Conditions
