Job DescriptionPrimary Function of the PositionA senior instructional designer will be responsible for the design and content development of mission critical learning programs, including but not limited to web-based learning, instructor-led training, blended instruction solutions, and virtual sessions. Development will focus on the clinical/technical aspects of our Intuitive products and will be developed using programs like Storyline 360, Rise 360, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office. Deliverables such as technical product videos and online learning modules will be integrated into learning management systems and multiple delivery platforms. A senior instructional designer will also be responsible for taking an active role in onboarding and mentoring Instructional Designers, managing large cross-departmental projects, driving process improvement, and conducting needs/gap analysis to improve deliverables and learning outcomes.

Essential Job Duties

Project manage all phases of learning projects (analysis, design, development, project management, implementation, and evaluation).

Proactively communicate task and project status to internal and external stakeholders.

Participate in needs analysis to determine training needs within the organization.

Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and capture learning content.

Research, recommend, and implement creative learning experiences.

Design and develop training content that engages learners and aligns with identified outcomes.

Develop/review videos, eLearning, instructor-led, blended learning, and virtual training curriculums to optimize efficacy and learner experience.

Collaborate with multimedia team to create or modify media assets to support instructional needs.

Conduct peer review and QA of deliverables.

Work with Implementation Administrator to manage deliverables through the document control, translation, implementation, and launch process.

Design, develop, and conduct assessments and evaluations.

Analyze assessment and evaluation results to drive design/development improvements.

Drive and implement instructional design methodologies across projects and deliverables.

Partner with internal and external teams to drive strategic improvements.

Research, recommend, and manage third-party training solutions.

Mentor instructional designers and assist with onboarding processes.

QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience

Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience.

Comprehensive e-learning and classroom design and facilitation skills.

Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and its application to learning solutions.

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Experience working with SMEs in a team environment.

Experience working with a learning management system (LMS).

Ability to self-manage multiple development projects and deadlines.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to define and document processes.

Ability to manage large strategic projects.

Ability to foster and create strong working relationships.

Ability to coach and provide feedback.

Required Education and Training

Minimum college degree required.

Software proficiency required:

Articulate Rise 360.

Articulate Storyline.

Camtasia.

MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).

Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop).

Preferred Skills and Experience

Minimum 1-2 years of experience in biotech or medical device organization preferred.

Curriculum Development or Instructional Design/Technology master’s degree preferred.

Smartsheet proficiency preferred.

Xmind proficiency preferred.

Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects proficiency preferred.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

$127,500 - $183,500Base Salary Range Region 2:
