Serve in Headquarters, Training and Doctrine Command Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, Fort Eustis, VA as a paralegal specialist/management support with primary emphasis in the areas of administrative and civil law. This is a developmental position to the GS-09.Responsibilities:Provide general paralegal and administrative support to all attorneys in the OSJA.Transcribe correspondence and reports into proper format with correct spelling, grammar, capitalization, and punctuation.Oversee the tasking of all assigned work to attorneys for accountability.Use an automated tracking database/system to log matters in and out and query for status and reports.Independently conduct legal research on a variety of administrative law issues; identify applicable laws, regulations or other precedent as necessary.Qualifications:Who May Apply: Only applicants who meet one of the employment authority categories below are eligible to apply for this job.Current Army Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) EmployeeCurrent Department of Army Civilian EmployeesCurrent Department of Defense (DOD) Civilian Employee (non-Army)Military Spouses, under Executive Order (E.O.) 13473Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) of 1998Minimum Requirements:Specialized Experience GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service which includes:Assisting attorneys through research of previous opinions and positions.Arranging schedules of visits, making reservations, and/or submitting travel vouchers and reports.Establishing suspense dates on all requests for legal opinion and office projects.Specialized Experience GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service which includes:Transcribing various correspondence and reports.Conducting legal research and drafting documents.Overseeing the tasking of all assigned work to attorneys.Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.Additional Information:Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One-year trial/probationary period may be required. This is a Career Program (CP) 56 - Legal position.
