We are seeking a growth-oriented entry level to experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.

Embedded Software Test Engineer _

This position is associated with testing of electrical systems and software that control vehicle operation and functions. Testing methods include diagnostic troubleshooting, automated software testing, and full or partial machine testing.

Responsibilities

Create and deliver specific direct application and remote testing plans.

Create and deliver specific Hardware test plans.

Create and deliver specific regression test plans.

Test software delivery via live testing and remote assessment.

Participate in tactical meetings with project leaders.

Support testing efforts to ensure the timely release of content to support product delivery launches.

May travel to the field to provide problem resolution on complex problems and supporting marketing and/or quality department activities.

Perform Vehicle-in-the-Loop (ViL) test plan execution, which involves fault insertion in conjunction with monitoring system responses via J1939 Controller Area Network (CAN) diagnostic tools and an oscilloscope.

Develop and maintain test cases, test sets, acceptance criteria, and test procedures.

Assist in driving to root cause of embedded software defects.

Apply engineering rigor in software validation activities.

Collaborate with various resources to execute validation plan activities.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree in Engineering or Computer Science

Experience developing and/or testing new electronic hardware and/or embedded software for new product programs with demonstrated skills and knowledge in one or more of the following: embedded software development/testing; electronic hardware design/testing; and/or vehicle electrification (generator, inverter, motor, and/or battery development).

Experience using J1939 Controller Area Network (CAN) diagnostic tools, oscilloscopes, function generators, etc.

Excellent organizational and communication skills to facilitate activities with other departments/disciplines.

Ability to interpret software requirements, state diagrams, and test plan documentation.

Ability to interpret hardware schematics for wiring and electronic controllers.

Ability to operate machinery or heavy equipment during testing.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Desired Attributes

1 to 3 years product/component development/testing engineering experience.

General machine knowledge of off-road equipment or machinery

Previous successful project management and leadership skills.

Experience with electrification / hybrid vehicle development.

Prior knowledge of systems engineering processes.

Self-motivated, quick learner, with an any-problem-can-be-solved attitude.

A strong mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills.

Ability to thrive in a team environment.

Pay Range:

$70,000-$100,000 – Commensurate with experience.
