The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position SummaryAs a member of the Digital Strategy team and reporting to the Associate Vice President of Digital Strategy, the Data Manager administers and maintains the technical architecture of the Office of Public Affairs Marketing Cloud implementation. The Data Manager should have excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills and be able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.ResponsibilitiesReview and approval of calendaring scheduling (across Participating Offices/Depts)Management and preparation of system fields and leading data sync through Marketing Cloud Connect (migrations, integrations)Liaising with CUIT and the Salesforce Senior Systems Administrator as neededMonitor data quality and integrityMake data-driven decisions to optimize solutions for business unitsReview and approval of content and calendaring for emails targeted to broad University audiencesProvide technical support to Public Affairs and other offices on Marketing Cloud for managing changes and projects and issue resolutionManage subscriber data, including contact model and Data ExtensionsManage User Setup and Roles (Profiles)Manage Preference CentersManage audience segmentationDesign and implement customer journeys and automations using Journey Builder and Automation StudioDevelop relevant reports and dashboardsSpearhead user management and trainingUniversity Data Governance CommitteeApplication Governance

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree and 4-6 years of Marketing Cloud experience, including Community Cloud and Journey BuilderSalesforce Marketing Cloud Certifications, including Email Specialist and Marketing Cloud AdministratorProficiency in HTML, AMPscript, and SQLStrong understanding of relational databases and marketing and communicationsDemonstrative success with Marketing Cloud integration projectsExperience integrating Marketing Cloud with other applications via real-time, batch, sync/asyncExpert knowledge of Salesforce Marketing CloudExtensive knowledge of SQL and AMPscript

Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with Java, JavaScript, and SOAPExperience using Salesforce data tools (Data Loader, Excel Connector, DemandTools, Eclipse Force.com IDE)Experience with scripted data loader, web services, cloud or on-premise middleware, and other enterprise-integrating technologiesExperience in a development setting within higher education
