Content Strategist

on our Mission Operations-Education Center team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.As a Content Strategist, you will plan, create and manage digital marketing content for the AMA Ed Hub to drive audience engagement and channel growth.RESPONSIBILITIES:Content marketing planning & creationPlans, executes and manages written content marketing web pages. Coordinates review cycles and obtains all approvals to publish new/updated pages on time. Ensures content is up-to-date and accurate on Ed Hub.Plans SEO keywords approach to optimize organic search performance and manages content marketing editorial calendar for Ed Hub site.Creates highly SEO optimized content (blogs, articles, listicles, courses, social media posts, etc.) to promote online training (including multimedia) and other enduring educational packages.Conducts SEO research, content audits and content marketing governance/oversight, including cross-checking, quality assurance, and version control on website content marketing pages.Collaborates with internal stakeholders to develop high-quality copy assets for a range of audiences, ensuring assets are disseminated and leveraged through all appropriate channels.Supports digital marketing conversion efforts, UTM attribution, web analytics and other tasks and projects as assigned.Tracks, implements and analyzes core performance metrics and SEO keywords performance across channels and provides optimization recommendations.Editing and Writing CopyWrites marketing copy for a variety of online and offline marketing channels including but not limited to web pages, online banner ads, blogs, ad hoc email, fliers, newsletters etc.Writes, edits, and fact-check web content marketing updates and/or promotional assets; edits existing web pages to properly message content to drive traffic growth.Edits Ed Hub digital content projects including product microsites for internal and external providers. Reviews content assets for brand consistency, accuracy, voice and tone, and audience targeting.Assists in editing guidelines for the marketing team.Collaborates on writing copy, producing and minor editing of content for videos, podcasts, social media, and promotional kits.Reviews/edits/writes wireframe copy for mobile app(s), website, and other digital products to facilitate easy navigation and excellent user experience.May include other responsibilities as assignedREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Advertising or related Communications discipline required, with concentration in digital writing/editing, marketing and digital content publishing strongly preferred.Minimum 5 years’ experience with content marketing planning, writing and editing for the web (short and long form), and content management required. Must have strong editorial skills and content marketing experience.Minimum 5 years of proven SEO/SEM and Google Analytics experience required.Demonstrated experience upholding brand standards and editing to AP style.Strong knowledge and experience with content marketing strategy, digital marketing, content design and UX principles and technical skills of working within a content management system preferred.Proficient with Google Analytics, social platforms, Microsoft Office products and Adobe Creative Suite. Health care experience is a plus.Ability to think conceptually and create cross-links with related content across the website and familiarity with print and digital communications integration.Ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment with proven ability to meet deadlines.Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized individual with excellent communication skills (written and verbal) able to excel in a matrixed and fluid environment.The American Medical Association is located at 330 N.
