Senior Tax Manager

to join their dynamic team.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Tax Manager to lead our tax services team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax compliance and consulting, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for helping clients navigate complex tax issues.

Preference is for a hybrid candidate based in Washington, DC, but strong applicants from other locations will also be considered for the role.

Position responsibilities:

Client Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing strategic tax advice.

Tax Compliance:

Oversee and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Tax Planning:

Develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize clients’ tax positions, including identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation.

Team Leadership:

Mentor and supervise junior staff, providing guidance on technical tax matters and professional development.

Research and Analysis:

Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, conducting thorough research to provide insights and recommendations to clients and the firm.

Business Development:

Assist in identifying new business opportunities and participate in the preparation of proposals and presentations to prospective clients.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other departments, including audit and advisory, to provide integrated service offerings and address client needs comprehensively.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Master’s degree in Taxation preferred

Recent experience working in a public accounting firm

10+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in accounting

A CPA is required for this role

Experience in Corporate, S-Corp, and/or Partnership returns

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology

Experience managing a team

The salary range for this opportunity is stated above. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range.
