JOB SUMMARY:

This role will design, develop and test all aspects of all Power Package units to meet the desired requirements for our customers. In addition, the Mechanical Engineer will provide documentation, detailed instructions or drawings detailing how the devices, parts, equipment, or structures are fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained or used.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create designs for manufacturing including 2D and 3D modeling sheet metal and weldments using SolidWorks.Use SolidWorks to revise and document electrical and mechanical assemblies, drawings and parts.Use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to optimize designs of large structures.Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and engineering issues as necessary.Work with third party engineering firms to review structural elements for enclosures.Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.Prepare bills of materials to estimate steel cost and other materials needed for unit.Work efficiently with other departments to ensure products meet safety and quality standards.Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

is desired OR any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job duties (required)Have reliable attendance, be respectful and responsible at work.1-2 years of relevant experience working in engineering field preferred.3-5 years of mechanical engineering and design experience in lieu of college degree.SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Proficient with SolidWorks necessary and simulation

software (e.g.- Sim Scale and Open FOAM), a plus.Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analysis, a plus.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.Able to read and understand P&ID.Experience with CAD/CAM and CNC machines.Ability to think creatively and devise novel solutions to complex, multi-disciplined design problems.Strong attention to detail.Excellent time management skills, ability to self-motivate.Strong communication skills to work effectively across departments.High-level computer skills, proficient in creating plans and designs using relevant software.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, required.Understanding the forming of sheet metal work and capabilities preferred but not required.Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.JTS is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
