What you'll do

Viasat's UHF SATCOM business is actively enhancing and modernizing our various software and hardware products. We have developed a vast array of software products that provide channel control and network terminal capabilities for military satellite communications. Our products have been deployed by US military and many foreign allies for many years that meet crucial satellite communication needs for warfighters around the globe in all weather and terrain conditions.

The day-to-day

We provide a dynamic and flexible work environment where interns are encouraged and expected to take initiative and apply their problem-solving skills and creativity to software design and resolve technical issues.

You will work onsite at a Viasat office location for the duration of your 12 week internship. Viasat embraces a flexible work environment and onsite/hybrid work is determined by individual roles and teams.Housing and relocation assistance are available to interns pending eligibility.To ensure equity across our intern population, intern compensation is pre-determined based on a variety of factors including: role, location, and final graduation date. Intern compensation is non-negotiable.What you'll need

Education Requirements:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, and/or a related fieldTo be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2025 and December 2026Internship Dates:

You must be available for the full duration of the 12-week internship program. Note limited exceptions may be granted. Viasat offers two options based on semester and quarter academic calendars:Cohort 1: May 20th, 2025 - August 15th, 2025Cohort 2: June 17th, 2025 - September 12th, 2025

Additional Requirements:

Experience using C/C++Exposure with Java or JavaScript and/or python and/or C#/.NETFamiliarity with RDBMS technologies (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.)US citizenshipWhat will help you on the job

Previous Viasat internship experienceExperiences with Visual Studio IDEExperiences or exposure with embedded software programming concepts and toolsExperience using version control and issue tracking tools (e.g. Git, Jira, Perforce, etc.)Ability and interest to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the future

Salary range

$21 - $66 / hourly

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
