Date Available:12/02/2024 South Portland is seeking a dynamic and experienced social worker to fill a long term substitute position. This role will be supporting students in special education with diverse social and emotional needs.
Duties Include:Support of IEP social/emotional/behavioral goals and behavior plans of individual students.Provide individual sessions to students on a regular basis.Ongoing collaboration with behavior strategist, instructional strategist and classroom staff.Co-leading therapeutic lessons to small groups of students, in conjunction with the classroom teacher.
Qualified candidates should:Possess excellent communication skillsKnowledge of special education and IEP procedures preferredThrive on being part of a dynamic teamUnderstand how school-based social work services can impact a student's academicand functional performanceBe flexibleHaving experience in trauma informed practice is preferredHold appropriate certification (LCSW preferred, LMSW-CC considered)Experience with crisis triage preferred
