Job Description:
The IT Infrastructure Engineer role is to manage server computer systems and core network infrastructure. This includes configuring, maintaining, supporting, patching, architecting, and optimizing all new and existing hardware and software. All corresponding hardware for SAN, switches, servers, routers that are required for network connectivity or server room operations are included responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
Manage and ensure effectiveness of all servers (physical and virtual) and their associated operating systems and software. Responsible for on-site and off-site data centers.Manage and participate in configuration, installation and maintenance of servers and network; this includes VMware, Microsoft Windows servers, firewalls, routers, switches, SAN, etc.Provide support including troubleshooting and resolving network and server related issues in a timely manner.Design and implement plans to ensure network and server capacity meets existing and future requirements.Define, develop, and implement patch management process for all associated systems.Provide second level support and after-hours availability as needed.Develop automated solutions to streamline certain processes.Perform installation, upgrade and support activities with minimal disruption to the business while following standard change management policies.Assist in the development of monitoring and reporting tools to ensure the team is aware of the current state of the various systems. These tools should also highlight where the systems may be experiencing resource constraints and/or systems that are no longer being utilized.Provide input into metrics to show proper procedures and security controls are in place.Skills & Qualifications:
5+ Years of experience with the following technologies is required:
Windows Server 2008/2012 R2, 2016Active Directory and Group PolicyMicrosoft SQL Server 2008/2014/2016Microsoft Terminal ServicesVMware vSphere (ESXi), vCenter
Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experienceMCSE, VMWare VCP, or CCNA preferredSecurity Information and Event Management (SIEM) experience is a plusExperienced in Microsoft Azure with at least 1 year of Azure hands-on experienceResponsibilities include virtual networks, image creation and maintenance, subscription management, storage management, Backup/DR, Network Security Groups, Role Based Access Controls, Azure Active Directory, Azure Automation, Monitoring and LoggingDirect skills should include PowerShell, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templatesKnowledge and understanding of Cisco Networking & VPN Devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.Storage Area Network (EMC Preferred)Microsoft Exchange / O365 E-Mail environmentStrong technical and analytical skills required in solving complex system infrastructure issuesStrong written and oral communication skills including the ability to present complex technical information to people at all levelsTime management and project management skillsTRAVEL:
