JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate services are rendered to patient on the unit and in outpatient services. Must work well independently and in combination with a multidisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective treatment. Assesses needs and works directly with the patient on completion of treatment plan goals. Provides counseling, education, and support to patients and their families in individual and group sessions. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and therapeutic interaction purposes. Periodically provides in-service training to staff on unit.Interacts with Physicians and community agencies to provide continuity of care for the prevention of recurring problems and case management discharge planning. Serves as a representative of the Behavioral Health Center by presenting community education programs. This requires excellent organizational and presentation skills as well as extensive knowledge of mental health.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelinesPerforms all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organizationPerforms other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and proceduresMaintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs)Attends staff meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time.Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.WORKING CONDITIONS
General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels.May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights.May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body fluids, or infectious organisms.May be required to change from one task to another of different nature without loss of efficiency or composure.Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.May be scheduled as needed including overtime

Master's Degree in Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology or related field (Required)EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2 - 3 years Behavioral Health Experience (Required)CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES
