As an Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate and Investment Banking Team, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.
Job responsibilities
Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope such as testing the performance of the infrastructure and understanding and verifying that requirements were successfully metDrives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completionCarries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parametersResolves most nuances and determines appropriate escalation pathExecutes conventional approaches to build or break down technical problemsDrives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applicationsPartners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statusesConsiders upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implicationsOversees significant decision making for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applicationsRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experienceStrong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessmentsFamiliarity with security protocols and products, including Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, and OAuth.In-depth knowledge of computer science data structures and algorithms, coupled with strong problem-solving abilities.Knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and basic programming languages or database management systems (Java, PERL, Python)Intermediate understanding of line of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture designExperience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private cloudsDevelops infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledgeProficient knowledge in the following key areas: Hardware Architecture (performance testing, monitoring, operations), Hardware Benchmarking (program management, network management), Design (compliance, security), Network Engineering (planning, provision)Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
